It works great on a tablet, but the landscape function would help, and you could really make use of the extra space (save having to switch screens to get to the back button, etc)
I switched to this from the official app and I love it. The directional swiping works significantly better. Good work dev.

Able Remote is a must-try app for every Google TV owner - voice command and shortcuts on a phone [App Reviews]
We are currently testing a major new feature that will allow users to change any of the device or app buttons in Able Remote. If you want to change the layout of the buttons on each screen or if you want direct access to your favorite app, then the new edit feature will be for you. We hope to release this soon as a paid feature using in-app billing. All of the existing features of Able Remote will remain free.
it's rather fugly.
what's this do that the official GTV app doesn't?
The link to the device app is no longer valid and I can't find the app on Android Market. I see the one for Google TV but not the one for the device.
Version 2.0 of Able Remote was released this morning and it relies on an in-app purchase to enable the new edit feature. I decided to pull the app out of the Market temporarily until Google has fixed the issue.
Able Remote 2.0 for Google TV has been released in the Android Market.
Turn your Android device into a Google TV remote!
Able Remote 2.0 includes several new features:
- Edit device and app buttons (paid feature: $0.99)
- Support repeat keys for arrow navigation
- Support forwarding all Android notifications
- User configurable settings
- Better phone number matching for Caller ID
- Updated graphics
You can download the app for free from the Android Market: https://market.android.com/details?i...android.remote
Google appears to be rolling out a fix for their in-app billing issues. Google has released a new version of their Market app today (version 3.4.4). If you don't have that version, the launch the Market app, go to My Apps and then get out of the Market app. That seems to trigger an update within a few minutes.
