    Netflix app update not working

    Netflix inoperable after newest firmware update 2.1update 1.
    I have a message "cannot connect to Netflix , please try again or visit Netflix.com/help.
    On the screen appear two options "try again" "cancel"
    After several seconds the screen became black. I reboot the device maybe twice without results. Other apps working fine. Any solution will be appreciate . Thank you

    Log into Netflix from a different computer. just to make sure you are able to connect to the site from your location. Hopefully it is using the same internet connection as the other computer. Another thing to test, is to ensure that you have internet connectivity at all from your box. Might try to change your password to Netflix. Maybe it would free out of that error if you got an invalid password error. Worth a try...

    We had same issue. I did a CTRL + ALT + DEL reset and after relogging in it works perfect.

    Thank you guys for your advices....so no one worked to fix my problem.
    I reset the device (hard reset), change my Netflix password, ctrl-alt-delete (soft reset) thankfully I streaming Netflix movies from my computer and Wii, the last one is going to embarrass the high tech NSZ-GT1 because after December 20 when it got the GTV first update I didn't watch movies from Netflix app in to my new Sony bluray google tv since then.
    Im disappointed with my new gadget. Unfortunately I cannot return it to Bestbuy because I bought it in Thanksgiven.
    Any more ideas fellas would be appreciated. Happy new year to everybody

    I believe this device would qualify for Bestbuy's holiday extended return policy which I think ran from 11/1/10 until 1/31/11. You might want to check with them.

    Hi Twinsdaddy2,

    Sorry you've been having this problem. The only time I've seen this specific error is on a box not connected to the internet, which doesn't sound like the case here. Can you confirm that you haven't been having any other connectivity issues?

    Have you tried a factory data reset? Is this what you meant by a hard reset?

    Also, you may want to try force quitting the app and restarting it:

    Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Netflix > Force stop

    If the Netflix app appears multiple times in the list, be sure force stop all of them.

    hi thanks again...
    I followed your instructions in settings- applications I found 2 netflix apps.
    Netflix 1.79 MB version 1.08 and
    Netflix 8.00 KB version 2.1 update 1
    I forced it to stop the both of them and restart it..........and after...
    I lunched de Netflix app. and after several seconds. the same message appear. "Can not connect to Netflix please try again...........". Frustration again!!! Help.

    The issue may be with your Netflix plan type. I had an old plan which is no longer offered and didnt support playing Netlix on TV devices. I changed to a current plan and it now works

    From Netflix Help"

    Netflix Ready Devices

    To watch instantly on your TV via a Netflix ready device, you must be on an Unlimited plan.

    You are currently on the , 2 DVDs out at-a-time (4 a month), plan. Click here to change to an Unlimited plan."

    same issue

    im having the same issue on the sony internet tv. app sits on a black screen then says cant connect to netflix. i reboot a few times then it runs but with no sound. was working fine for the first few days that I had the tv. now when I want to watch netflix its like a hour long cycle of rebooting and playing pandora then nextflix to get the sound to work. seems extremely buggy . huge pain in the arse.
