    PlayPoint Issues

    Hi,

Starting a new thread to discuss play point issues.

    1. There is no resume/restart process.
    2. No subtitle selection feature yet.
    3.No zoom/14:6/16:6 feature yet.
    4. When in video album mode, no way to find out which movie clip we are playing, until you start the clip, and no continuous play either.

Use GTV Box player app in play store. Play point is garbage.

Has anyone had any luck with the gtvbox player? All of my videos come up as "video invalid" and only play the audio. This is getting very frustrating trying to just play basic .avi or .mkv files.

I got gtvbox on sale couple of days back, and it plays some mkv files fine for me with audio. It however does not play iso files.
I have a folder with multiple vob files like vts_02_0.vob, vts_02_1.vob,vts_02_2.vob, how is anyone supposed to know which file to select to play the movie??

I don't think DLNA is the right kind of protocol for iso files, though I think there might be support for it on some media servers (PMS maybe?)

I haven't tried gTVbox yet since it's paid only, but have been using aVia without any issues from my Serviio server. Everything I've tried from my library has worked, including 720p mkv files with AC3 (passthrough to my receiver.) The interface is just a little clunky though. How do gTVbox or Plex compare for DLNA streaming?

From the docs (player.gtvbox.net/help): "If you have several VOB files ripped from DVD (like VTS_00_1.VOB, VTS_00_2.VOB etc), you can play them as a one file. Just click on the corresponding .IFO file (VTS_00_0.IFO)."

Finally an answer which was useful and up to point. It does START playing from the beginning of the movie and it also shows the total time, but when i skip, it is skipping in intervals of 5.5 minutes and suddenly it says cannot play the file!! Is there a way to turn on/off subtitles

Skipping works bad with VOB/MPEG/MPEGTS files, unfortunately.
Subtitles from VOB files are not currently supported (only if you could find some external SRT subtitle file, it will work).

If you have some more questions about GTVBox, please, use the main support thread: http://www.googletvforum.org/forum/g...r-support.html
