I have an old tube TV in my main family room and a new HDTV in my room. I'm thinking of buying another one of these for my main room when the price goes down to $99. I know that HDMI is the only input and output but is there like a converter I could use to make the HDMI a component cable? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is only one converter that will work. I have it and it is called the HDFury3. It is very expensive. I would not recommend getting it....not because it performs bad but because I think you'd be better off investing the money toward a new TV. The only reason I purchased the HDFury3 was to be able to connect my Slingbox (since the Slingbox doesn't have HDMI input and you can't connect both component and HDMI from a cable box at the same time).

There's a number of low end devices on Amazon that convert HDMI to analog (typically component). They seem to have pretty low review scores though...
