Im trying to control the volume of my av receiver, a yamaha rv-x995. I have a Sony NSZ-GT1 box. I went to settings, tv and avr, av receiver setting, checked control with ir blaster, chose yamaha, then chose each code and tried them with amp turned on. None of them worked.

I dont know what else to do. Anybody?

Hello sir sparkyscott21. It is obvious that your source from the information you've given is from the google. Isn't it? :D

Make sure your IR light reciever diods are plugged into the back of the Sony and the other ends are visible to the remote device. Just a thought. I was trying to set mine up before I realized i needed to plug in the other cable into the back of the sony

You can verify if the blaster is sending commands by looking at it through a digital camera. This will allow you to see the emitters light up.
If the light up and it is still not workingtry learning a command from the original remote and test that command.
If it does work then the Database has the wrong commands for your AVR you could
    A. Learn all of the commands your self
    B. Contact support and see if they can give you a better command set.

Either way you should contact support and let them know the Database is wrong
