If you have found some apps that work for your Sony or Logitech device please post them so others will know they are worth checking out.. As of Today I have only found a few apps, but most of them don't offer much.

If you guys are going to make a good go at this thread, you should include the version number of the apps. Especially, since developers are releasing new versions of the apps which are Google TV compatible. Also, the repository would be helpful. ie., Android Market, Amazon Maketplace, or GTVH's Dropbox.

Those of us who are currently Android challenged don't know what most of these apps do.

Please list apps that work correctly on your Sony Google TV 2.0 . I will try to keep this thread updated.

    1. Launcher Pro Free ( Changes your home screen / shortcuts / widgets ect...)
    2. Aquarium live wallpaper
    3. Chess for Android
    4. Equalizer
    5. Cloud Print
    6. Google +
    7. Facebook
    8. Syrious Scramble
    9. Slacker Raido
    10. Pandora
    11. News Republic
    12. Amazon App Store
    13. Google Reader (Justified)
    14. Google Music (Justified)

    15. Pulse (irishpride)
    16. Drop box (irishpride)
    17. Cnn (irishpride)

    18. Plex
Classy Fireplace did work, but over wifi it was choppy. I would not recommend it if you have a slow connection less then 5Mbps. Also, the Frroger app timeout... may have to do with my bandwidth.

Any good music apps? I'm looking for something that will allow me to import my mp3s from a NAS and at least play it in correct track listing. The Media player can't do this properly.

Well, even if you were an Android user there are a lot of applications on the market. Using Google or searching the Android Market(s) will help you find out what an application does. There are also apps which are referenced in both the iOS and Android app stores. For example, Dropbox is a cloud file sharing app that you may have use on your iOS device which would come in handy on any of your Android devices as well. For now, your cognitive pattern search should be recognize apps that you might already want.

The best feature of the Honeycomb update is the ability to add applications. I don't have an Android or IOS phone so I'm looking for ideas. So far I've added BeautifulWidgets, ClassyFireplace, Equalizer, & Frogger TV.

I installed quite a bit of apps from Android Market, Amazon Marketplace, and the GTV Dropbox account. However, these are the only ones I've kept so far:
    • File Expert (Android Market)
    • ES Explorer (GTV Hacker Dropbox)
    • Crunchy Roll (Android Market)
    • Amazon Marketplace (GTV Hacker Dropbox)
    • Advance Task Killer (Android Market)
    • Android System Info (Android Market)

i'm really liking the PLEX and Clicker apps. wish they'd mix the Clicker listings into the TV & Movies search options like they do netflix, the web content on there would fit nicely. the redux app is a big improvement over the chrome method and its really smooth and fast now. the IGN pro league app works good, and is an awesome concept, but has barely any content. the youtube app is somehow worse, and we use a bookmark to leanback for the kids instead of that. beware of clicking on "internal storage" in the stock media player, mine got stuck in there and i can't back out or use that app anymore (avia is better anyway, but its lame that the media player got stuck like that day 1 of the update).

Now that we FINALLY have access to market I thought it'd be good to get a thread going on some quality recommended apps. (Also since the app organization on the market is a bit weird).

2 I'd recommend right off the bat,
RedditTV - Lists Youtube videos posted on reddit, can browse by subreddit and Hot/Top/New/Controversial
Redux - Think this came pre-installed with the update but you basically select a category and continuously plays videos from that category. Stayed up till 3am last night watching crazy clips under the "caught on tape" category!
Classy Fireplace - Great for relaxing, it plays a 1080p video (beach, fireplace, waterfall etc) to jazz music. Great if you don't have a fireplace, hilarious if you do. [pic i took of my tv with running the app above my fireplace: yfrog.com/nv38iwj ]
