I am just curious if anyone has tried to run the XBMC for Android apk on the Co-Star. I thought this would be a pretty slick thing to try, but didn't know if anyone had already crossed that bridge.

I think you might be able to find it from XDA developers forum (as mentioned in the following thread):

    http://www.googletvforum.org/forum/...nightly-builds-xbmc-media-center-android.html

However as far as I know - the XBMC android apps are based on NDK (native development kit) - and GTV doesn't currently support NDK. Thus the app probably just forces closed on GTV devices. Also there would be no XBMC hardware acceleration available on GTV devices - as XBMC needs to work with the manufacturers of devices and the specific processor involved to accomplish that.

I wonder if instead of campaigning Google to have GTV devices support NDK if we could campaign the XBMC people to port it for GTV as well. From what i've read it sounds like it was supposed to be for STBs anyway.

I've tried a couple different builds I have come across and neither of them will run, they both fail at launch. I would love to see this as well. In time I am sure we will see a build that will run on GTV, there is a lot of demand for it.
